Why work at Red Hat? Who better to ask than the folks that already do. We asked, they answered:
We plan, but we're flexible enough to adapt. We plan far into the future, and we consider the outcomes. Not just for the business, but for the customers, partners, and associates.
Who wants to do the exact same thing, day in and day out? Here you've got opportunities to change, take on new projects, learn new skills. We'll give you the freedom and tools to be creative, innovative, productive. To do meaningful work. Here, "challenging" is a good thing.
It just makes sense. Treat customers like what they are -- the most important part of our business.
For example, we believe in democratizing content and making it available for everyone's benefit. So we work on the GPL and release content under Creative Commons licensing. We believe that public policy is everyone's concern, and we defend our position on intellectual property.
We believe that education is the greatest tool of all, and we work towards small, constant improvements. And we believe that this education, this technology and opportunity, should be available to everyone, which is why we love the One Laptop per Child project.
We believe that open source means open to everyone, including you. And we believe that open source is right.
When people love what they do, they do it well. And we look for talented, dedicated people. Everyone should be able to look around each day at work and know that they are surrounded by their equals.
Red Hat is a global company. We are big enough to have offices all over the world, yet small enough to know the folks in those offices. We have the ability to fund, sponsor, and host events and programs that reinforce our small-company values. Shadowman got buff, but he stayed flexible.
If it's a good idea, run with it. Just ask. You'll get the support and the tools to do something new, something innovative. Thought of a great new application, a patch, a better strategy? Go make it happen.
Some companies will treat you as a resource, not a person. But here, no matter the job, no matter the location, we respect our associates. No micro-managing and plenty of flexibility.
We believe in our products. In our plan. We know we can change the world, and we're well on our way. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if someone really cares about their work or if they're just going through the motions. Here, it's not. Open source is more than a concept we use. It's who we are.
