Red Hat and Bull Enter Into Global Agreement
Bull becomes preferred provider of Red Hat Enterprise Linux solutions and services
5 August 2003 - Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT) and Bull (Paris: Bull) today announced that they have signed an OEM agreement making Bull a preferred reseller for delivery of fulfillment and service of the complete Red Hat Enterprise Linux line of solutions, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS, ES and WS. Bull's objective is to offer a complete Open Source solution to clients with a single interface for customers to deploy and support the global solution, including the servers and software environments.

Supporting the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system is a key element of Bull’s strategy to offer open and cost effective environment for its Intel® based lines of servers, together with solutions ranging from front to back-office.

“Working with Red Hat, Bull is pleased to bring a standards-based solution to the European market,” said Danielle Asheuer, Marketing Director of Bull. “Bull has had a long history of involvement in international Open Source projects such as ATLAS, the Linux Test Project and JOnAS. In concert with Red Hat, Bull will be able to provide integrated, complete Open Source solutions based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JOnAS.”

The Red Hat/Bull solution will be available on platforms based on Intel® IA 32 processors or on the Itanium Processor Family. The Express5800™ and NovaScale™ servers will be preloaded with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. With their combined solutions, Red Hat and Bull plan to address the needs of global enterprise corporations and governments.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS was first in Red Hat's line of enterprise solutions. Released in May of 2002, Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS has been widely deployed in mission-critical infrastructures. Recently Red Hat introduced Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES and WS, for use on departmental servers and technical workstations.

“Bull has a reputation for delivering quality IT hardware products, especially in the European market” said Alex Pinchev, President of International Operations at Red Hat. “As we continue to move aggressively on our strategy of the global expansion of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, we are pleased to have Bull join us.”

Red Hat and Bull plan to have a joint solution available by the end of 2003. For more information please visit www.bull.com.
