Red Hat recently completed the acquisition of Mobicents, an open source, SDP server technology. Mobicents is a highly scaleable, event-driven application server, and is the first and only Open Source Platform certified for JSLEE compliance, complementing J2EE to enable the creation of next generation communications applications that integrate voice, video, instant messaging, and data. Through the combination of the JBoss and Mobicents middleware offering, Red Hat has created the Red Hat/JBoss Communications Platform for the telecommunications industry.

Pilot Program

Red Hat has established a pilot program aimed at partnering with leading Communications companies to support near term deployments and define the future direction and priorities of the Red Hat/JBoss Communications Platform.

Red Hat will provide Bridge Support and maintenance for Mobicents production solutions until formal product support and maintenance is available.

  • Support will be provided during standard EMEA/US business hours
  • Support will be received via Web and/or Email
  • Support requests will be responded to within 24 hours
  • A customer contact will be provided with each response

Red Hat/JBoss Communications Platform Beta

The Red Hat/JBoss Communications Platform is still moving through the productization process. The process is estimated to take a further six to nine months for completion. However, a Beta has been established for accelerations purposes. Working with this Beta, Red Hat is seeking partnerships with leading Communications companies to support near term deployments and define the future direction of the platform.
